Dear God, show us the road
that you have chosen for us,
and give us the courage
to walk down it... Amen

What did God make you to be...

Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new. -2 Corinthians 5:17

I search my soul...what is it I'm to do, what did God make me to be...he made me to love, laugh, share a smile, kind word, helping hand, lend encouragement. Bear ye one another's burdens, and this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. I can do all these things with Joy, but at times, I feel empty. I can't love, until I love myself.
For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2: 10

Recently I listened to a series from Chip Ingram, Your Divine Design.
I've made a list of my strengths and weaknesses.

Strengths
Loving heart ~ Willingness to forgive - the want-need to "fix"

Weaknesses
Worry ~ Not letting go - poor self esteem
I'm afraid, what if I fail, I have so many insecurities. So do we all...let's do it together. What we are most passionate about. We'll get strong, we'll have Joy. We can be a paint brush in the hands of the Master. Let us do what God made us to do...

No good thing will be withheld from those who walk uprightly. -Psalm 84:11

What are your strengths, weaknesses? Feel free to share comments, suggestions.

Dear God, nudge me into the water, open my heart to what it is you made me to be. Amen

Sherry,
I enjoy the ministry of Chip Ingram also. We were on staff at a christian conf. grounds for 16 summers and he often came as the speaker of the week. Strengths and weaknesses huh?
Strengths: leadership, communicator
creative
Weaknesses: too judgmental, need to love people more (to see them through Jesus eyes), to quick to speak ( I need to learn to listen more)
I am thankful that God sees me through the blood of His precious son Jesus and not the sinful, piece of work that I am here on earth. Won't it be wonderful when we all get to heaven and will be just as Christ is!? In the mean while, Lord use your word in my life to keep perfecting me into your image! Amen,
Sarah

Today I met with a group of women for Bible study, and as we talked the theme kept returning:
FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS, the Author and finisher of our faith.

Sometimes it takes letting go and looking AWAY from ourselves (contrary to the world's counseling) to find truth and peace. As the Psalmist prayed, "Turn my eyes away from worthless things."

I found myself "worrying out loud" instead of truly praying this weekend - trying to "work out" this and that in my life. Finally, remembering this very Bible study I just mentioned, I just said, "Lord Jesus, you are much lovelier to look at than my own heart... help me to fix my eyes upon YOU instead."

That sounds so easy, but it is a struggle, an act of the will. We naturally feel like we have to fix things before we approach a holy God - we are true children of our parents who sewed fig leaves to try to clothe themselves and cover their shame. We must look just as pitiful in our puny human efforts -but He comes to us, just like He came to them, to clothe us in His own righteousness instead.

Thank God for Jesus. :)
